The Commission for Economic Affairs and Taxes of the Council of States (WAK-S) has continued its deliberations on the change of system for the taxation of residential property.
After the WAK-S had already decided at its meeting in February that only owner-occupied residential property at the main residence should be affected by a change in the system of residential property taxation, but not second homes or rented properties, it discussed further key points. In doing so, it is guided by the wording of the Commission initiative (transaction no. 17.400). In order to be able to carefully assess the effects of various options, the Commission has commissioned further clarifications. An overall decision will be taken after the summer break.
