At its meeting on 3 December 2021, the Federal Council opened the consultation on the introduction of the automatic exchange of information on financial accounts (AEOI) with twelve additional states and territories.

These would be: Ecuador, Georgia, Jamaica, Jordan, Kenya, Morocco, Moldova, Montenegro, New Caledonia, Thailand, Uganda and Ukraine.

The AEOI is scheduled to enter into force on 1 January 2023, with the first data exchange taking place in 2024.
