Federal Council opens consultation on the amendment of the Value Added Tax Ordinance

At its meeting on June 29, 2022, the Federal Council opened the consultation on the amendment of the VAT Ordinance. In the future, registration and billing for value added tax (VAT) will be done electronically.
For several years now, the FTA has offered the option of submitting VAT statements electronically. Today, practically all companies subject to VAT already register online, and 90% also settle their accounts online. Now the remaining taxpayers (around 40,000) are also to do this via the portal.
The consultation period lasts until October 21, 2022.
