Federal Council adopts benchmarks for individual taxation

At its meeting on 25 May 2022, the Federal Council adopted the key values for individual taxation.
The consultation is planned for autumn 2022. The Federal Council expects the individual taxation to reduce the burden of direct federal tax on the majority of individuals and to reduce revenue by CHF 1 billion.
Additional burdens are to be expected above all for married couples with only one income or a low second income. In the consultation draft, one variant with and one without measures to dampen these effects will be submitted. Relief measures are then planned for taxpayers with children (also single parents/single persons).
Individual taxation is to be provided for at all levels of government. The effects at cantonal and communal level depend on the concrete implementation.
