Muriel Borter

Muriel Borter originally only worked at the municipal tax office after graduating from high school in order to gain administrative experience for her intended career as a diplomat. Her seven-year part-time job as an assistant to Dr. Kurt Arnold, then Head of Tax at Credit Suisse Group, before and during her studies in linguistics and didactics at the University of Lausanne, did not initially get her interested in tax law. She only became interested in it when she took up a position as a tax commissioner at the Zurich Cantonal Tax Office in 2008. As she was born with a passion for real estate, she decided to specialize in the field of property taxes and trained as a real estate valuer. Since 2016, she has been working as a property tax specialist at the City of Zurich Tax Office, specializing in "valuations" and "value-adding expenses". Since 2022, she has also been on the board of the Building Cooperative of Professional Women, Zurich.
