Prof. Dr. René Matteotti is a lawyer and Professor of Swiss, European and International Tax Law at the University of Zurich and a tax lawyer at Tax Partner AG. He specializes in particular in corporate tax law and international tax law (including transfer pricing). He has many years of practical experience as a tax lawyer in representing domestic and foreign clients before tax authorities and courts. In particular, he assists companies with dispute resolution in the context of tax audits, obtaining rulings, mutual agreement procedures and GloBE minimum taxation. As an expert, he also regularly draws up legal opinions on tax law issues.

Prof. Dr. René Matteotti has actively contributed to tax policy through his involvement in various expert groups. Among other things, he is a member of the EXPERTsuisse tax expert group, editor-in-chief of the tax journal ASA, president of the Swiss Association of Tax Law Professors, member of the scientific committee of the European Association of Tax Law Professors and member of the Permanent Scientific Committee of the International Fiscal Association. He is the author of numerous academic publications on current tax law issues and regularly speaks at conferences in Switzerland and abroad. In the spring semester of 2025, he was Global Professor of Law at New York University School of Law.
